An excellent variety of bird species is seen in Uganda and Rwanda which include the shoebill, Saddle-billed stork, red-necked falcon, Green-backed Heron, Fluvous Whistling Duck and Blue-breasted Bee-eater. Others are pelicans, skimmers, kingfishers, thick-knees, storks, martins, swallows, weavers, raptors, canaries, kites, and many grassland specialties.
